Hello and Welcome to what will be an exciting and eventful year! Mrs. Cloninger and I are looking forward to being a part of your child's journey and a part of your support network.
This year will be my first year in Kindgergarten though, it will be my fourteenth year of teaching. I have previously taught fourth grade, first grade, and preschool. I am looking forward to my little people again. Having had a five year break from this age group I have found that my heart and enjoyment of teaching is with this dynamic and fast paced setting. They learn so much and the whole process of learning and understanding is so exciting for them that it makes it enjoyable for the adults who get to observe!
As we begin our journey I will share a little about myself and my family. My family always plays a part in my interactions with my students so you will hear a lot about them as the year progresses. First you should know that when your child comes home and tells you stories about "Mr." Sellers, don't assume they have the title wrong and are referring to me! Mr. Sellers works at Faith Elementary also. He is our head custodian. This was always an issue with my preschool students and made for some funny stories! Besides Mr. Sellers, my oldest daughter, Leala, also attends Faith. She will be in fifth grade this year. You will also be hearing a lot of stories about Madison and Taylor, our four year old twins. We live in the Rockwell area so if you see us say Hello! Our home-life includes our mini-farm of chickens, dogs, cats, and rabbits. We grow a lot of our own food and have recently caught the camping/travel bug! My husband is from Princeton, West Virginia and we met and married their 18 years ago when I was attending Concord University. I am an ex-Navy brat and a Navy Veteran. So, my own "home" is a little harder to define. I was born and raised most of my life in Spain. I have lived in Italy, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Virginia, Florida, West Virginia, Tennessee, New Mexico, Puerto Rico and North Carolina. I have visited Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, France, and about 30 of the 50 states. My travels will also be a part of my classroom discussions and the things we will learn about this year. Please let me know if you have any to share! I am excited about getting to know you and your students this year.
Please take a moment to look at the Contact tab at the top of the page... I will be adding to the other tabs as the year progresses. -Thank you!
